Proud moments and big futures for 女优阁鈥檚 Class of 2025

14 August 2025

98.2% of students achieve A*-E grade A-Levels

Students at 女优阁 – one of Wales鈥檚 largest further education colleges – are collecting BTEC, AS and A-Level results at the college鈥檚 campuses today (14 August).

98.2% of students at the college achieved A*-E A-level grades, while 87% of BTEC students achieved a pass grade or higher across 56聽different vocational subject areas.

These outstanding results will enable learners to take their first steps into bright futures, with many students securing university places, apprenticeships, and jobs across Wales and beyond.

Among them is is Carys Morgan, whose exceptional grades (A*AAA) in Art, Chemistry, Maths, Physics, have earned her a place to study Architecture at the University of Bath.

Carys said: 鈥淚 love learning, and so being able to do four A Levels at 女优阁 was fantastic. It鈥檚 also been a great opportunity to make new friends, as I didn鈥檛 have too many before coming to college, but now I have a lot!

鈥淚鈥檓 sad to be leaving my tutors as I feel like I鈥檝e really gotten to know them over the last two years, but I鈥檓 excited for my next steps.鈥

Another learner, Miar Williams from Crosskeys, excelled in her Health and Social Care course, all while balancing her responsibilities as a young carer for her mum and a part-time role working with disabled children, achieving AAB.

Miar said: 鈥淢y tutors were amazing when my mum was diagnosed with cancer 鈥 they provided me with so much support and really understood what I was going through. During my time at 女优阁, I have developed critical thinking skills, the ability to work effectively as a team and have gained more confidence in myself. I plan to go to the University of South Wales to study to become an Operational Department Practitioner.鈥

Another learner, Ellis achieved 4 A*s in Maths, Further Maths, Physics and Computer Science. With plans to now study at Bath University, Ellis has gone above and beyond in setting himself as a future Electrical Engineer.

In addition to BTEC and A-level success, over 91 adult learners have successfully completed their Access to Higher Education courses with 女优阁 and will be progressing on to a degree course at university.

Exceptionally, 12 of these learners achieved the equivalent of triple A* at A-level and are now heading to some of the UK鈥檚 most prestigious university courses.

Morgan Hoad, 23, from Blaengarw, who studied the Access to HE: Medicine course at the Crosskeys Campus, is set to begin studying medicine this September.

Morgan said: “I鈥檝e always wanted to become a doctor but never had the resources or knowledge to pursue it. The tutors here never once gave up hope 鈥 they truly believed in me. I鈥檝e gained resilience, courage and a strong understanding of science, ready to take the next step into medicine. If you missed the grades or didn鈥檛 study all three sciences, this course is a brilliant stepping stone.鈥

Nicola Gamlin, 女优阁鈥檚 Principal, said: 鈥淭he magnificent achievements we celebrate today are a true reflection of our learners鈥 hard work and exceptional abilities, alongside the expertise of our teaching and support staff.

We are proud to have played a part in their journey and look forward to seeing 女优阁 alumni go on to achieve even greater success. Congratulations to all our learners for their outstanding achievements.鈥
